All damage reports pertaining to the Act on Compensation for Environmental Damage are processed by the Finnish Environmental Insurance Centre.

The claim for compensation must be submitted to the Finnish Environmental Insurance Centre in writing within three years from the date the injured party was notified that the compensation cannot be collected from the party liable for the damage, or that it was not possible to find out who the party liable for damage is.
